Community Clean Up / Spruce Up with Durham Improvement Group (DIG)

The newly formed organization, “DURHAM IMPROVEMENT GROUP -  DIG”, will be holding its first community wide Clean Up/ Spruce Up Day in downtown Durham on Sunday, May 3, from 2-5 pm.
Organizations, businesses, community members, neighbors, school groups, families are invited to gather at the Durham Grange Farmers Market location on the Midway at the DIG booth  by 2 pm to learn what activities have been planned for the day.  
Community members are reminded to 

                Bring:   Gloves 
                            Tools you’d like to use
                       
             And to:    Wear a bright or white shirt 
                            Vest or colorful bandana 
                            Long pants
                            Safe shoes
                            Glasses or safety goggles
What to Expect:  Our Community coming together to help clean up and spruce up our town!  Tasks identified that need our attention: 

  • Trash clean up

  • Weed removal

  • Leaves and debris removal

  • Planting of containers by mural

  • Blowing and washing of sidewalks

  • Cleaning and refurbishing of 4 benches along Midway

  • Planting around the trees 

  • Anything else? 

Together we can roll up our sleeves and DIG in to help clean up/ spruce our town before our annual 
May Day Parade and Picnic on May 9! 

The "DURHAM IMPROVEMENT GROUP - DIG", is a group of community members dedicated to the enhancement of the greater Durham Community. Anyone may be a member of DIG and help with the planning of projects.  It is affiliated with the Durham Community Foundation and accepts donations to help with expenses for this purpose.
